A lifelong Democrat, I was appalled with the choice of trying to create a dynasty out of Kerrick. Stu Lourey wasn't my first choice, but I figured if he was the DFL's nominee in the special election for Senate District 11, so be it ("GOP's Rarick wins special election," Feb. 6).

Throughout my 66 years on this earth, I have seen this mistake with the liberals over and over. Too much tit for tat and too much heir-apparent garbage.If the party wants to put people in office, it needs people the electorate can get behind.
